In December the Cathedral of Notre-Dame traditionally hosts projections telling the nativity story through a Christmas sound and light show. These shows are operas composed of sounds and images and are projected on a transparent tulle screen measuring over 100 square meters hanging in the nave.
A presentation of the Christmas Mystery, from the liturgical time of the Nativity through art’s greatest masterpieces: painting, sculpture, architecture, icons, stained glass windows, illuminated manuscripts… set against a musical backdrop including recordings of the Notre-Dame de Paris choir school’s great organs and choirs.
Lumen de Lumine is an image opera directed and produced by the Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral.
